Cobra Foundation is proud to support the work of the Memorial Gates Council, whose primary purposes are to hold an annual commemoration at the Gates on Constitution Hill and to develop an educational service.
The Memorial Gates were erected in 2002 as a lasting memorial to honour the five million men and women from Africa, the Caribbean and the Indian subcontinent who volunteered to serve with the Armed Forces during the First World War and Second World War. They also celebrate the contribution that these men and women and their descendants, members of the Commonwealth family, continue to make to the rich diversity of British society.
